Celebration Snack Policy

The RSU 64 Board of Directors recognizes that student wellness and good nutrition are related to students’ physical and psychological well-being and their readiness to learn.  During this time of national attention to childhood obesity and nutrition, we are asking you to follow and support good health practices.

  • Parents are encouraged to provide their children with nutritionally sound snacks from home.

  • Please consider sending non-food items if you choose to celebrate your child’s birthday at school. We have many students who have food allergies.

  • When celebrations are held at school that include food, please provide nutritionally sound food for parties and events. Please do not send cupcakes, brownies, candy, chips, cookies, sugared drinks and other non-nutritious foods.  Foods that are not considered healthy may be rejected.

Thank you for supporting efforts to maintain student wellness.
