This week’s award recipients for the Hootie award are: Mr. Clark and Mrs. Bryer. Both are most deserving of this award! When Mrs. Hart announced Mr. Clark as her choice for the Hootie award she said, “Every child deserves to be greeted into their school building like Mr. Clark does for our kids! He starts their days off on a positive note”. Mrs. Morrisette said about Mrs. Bryer that she, “Provides a welcoming classroom environment for all students to learn in”. We’re incredibly proud of both educators!

Did you know this week is Fire Prevention Week? Our students learned a lot about first responders and the important work they do to keep people safe. Students are also learning all this week what they can do to stay safe at school and at home. Remember to review with your kids what your family's plan is at home if there is ever an emergency. Thank you to all the first responders who made our students' day extra special today.

Each month we will be partnering with Horace Mann to celebrate 4 staff members who are demonstrating our district-wide SMILE theme. SMILE stands for Students and Staff, Making connections, Impacts, Learning for, Everyone. Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Evans were the first to honor two of our staff members. We are pleased to announce our first two Hootie award recipients are Mrs. Hart and Mrs. Morissette! Both are very deserving of this award! As winners of the Hootie award, they receive the beautiful Hootie trophy along with a Dunkin Donuts gift card! Next month, they will choose two more staff members to pass the Hootie award along to! Thank you Horace Mann for partnering with us so we can recognize our staff members for all of their hard work and dedication!

This is a very important week to celebrate! It is National Substitute Appreciation Week! Without our fabulous substitutes, our school would not be able to run as smoothly. We are a community here at CCES and they are huge part of it! If you have ever substituted in our school, we want to send a huge thank you to you! :)
