We had our very first Thumbs Up assembly today and it went great! One of our schoolwide initiatives this year is to implement PBIS which is Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports within our school. CCES has always recognized students for their positive behaviors and we plan to continue to do so this year. We will be honoring two students per classroom each month at our Thumbs Up assembly. Some of you may have noticed that your child came home with a certificate today. We are excited to celebrate together as a school and for your child to also celebrate their successes with you at home!

Our first theme week of the year is just around the corner. Here is a list of the theme days for next week. A reminder will be sent out each evening so that you have time to pick out your clothes for the next day. We love our theme weeks and we are so excited to see what you have to show off next week.

You may have noticed that your child had come home with stamps on their hands. We have started a new PBIS positive behavior initiative within our lunchroom. When students demonstrate being safe, respectful, and responsible they receive a stamp! At the end of the week three students per grade level are chosen to sit on the stage as a “Special Guest”. If you see that your child has a stamp, this is a great way to ask them how they demonstrated being safe, respectful, or responsible within the lunchroom!
