Fence out Front

On Friday, 5/19, our school had a big school pride clean-up day in the morning with games and activities for the afternoon reward.  Teachers and their advisory students did such a great job of clean up all around the school, weeding flower beds, clearing brush, picking up sticks and pine cones, getting rid of junk, painting the gazebo, and so on.  In the front of the school, we erected a new rope fence and built a flower bed in the area to the right of the main entrance.  Students learned the finer points of post hole digging and post setting with the help of community volunteers.  Mr Libby said "This was one of the best school activities we have had!" and commented on how hard the students worked and how well they all pitched in to help.  We want to extend our appreciation to Jamey Kenneson, Marisha Bean, and Jodi and Joe Brasslett for their help.  We also want to thank Parker Lumber in Bradford for their donation of hemlock posts for the fence and raised bed.  This was a great community effort and is much appreciated!

Sort of a side note: we have two post holes our front that had ledge in them.  If anyone has a means to bore through or suggestione of how to mount the posts to the ledge, please contact Dr. Mayfield in the main office to share your thoughts.
