Central Middle School

Our first school dance of the year will be FRIDAY, SEPT 24, 6-8pm. Admission is $3 per student. Only CMS students are eligible to attend - no guests. Any students with 3 or more referrals are not eligible to attend the dance. School dress code is in effect for all dances. Cell phones should not be used until after 7:30 to arrange for rides. The front traffic circle is very busy at pick-up time. Students will be asked to wait at the main entrance until their ride pulls forward. Please be patient for the safety of all students.

We are experiencing a water issue at CCES. Students and staff have access to bottled water for drinking and we are managing the toilet facilities flushing when we have recovered enough water to do so. We have plenty of hand sanitizer available. We plan to dismiss at our regular time and will work to have the issue resolved in time for school to resume on Monday.

Announcements 9/17/2021 Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country team on their outstanding performance yesterday in their meet at All Saints. Girls receiving awards were; Addyson T, Katelyn L, and placing in the top ten were Desiree P and Lexie C. Boys receiving awards were ; Adain W, Sebastian La, Jayden R, Connor L, and placing in the top ten was Zac R. A Boys will practice after school. B Boys will practice after school. No Girls soccer practice today. Field hockey will practice after school. Cross country will practice after school.

We have received notification of one additional positive pool at CCES from our pool testing on Tuesday. However, secondary tests did not reveal a positive individual. We will continue to test this pool until we find the positive or our testing schedule catches up to next Tuesday. All parents of the students in this pool have been notified.

All of the pool testing results are back from Central High School. With 129 students and staff being tested, only one positive pool was identified. This positive case was already reported to the public earlier today.

Good Morning! We are all anxious to receive the results of the pool testing round completed yesterday. We have not yet received our results but will communicate with you once we do. With more schools participating and labs overrun with testing we may not get our results until tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

With a number of schools in our league switching to remote learning for the coming week, please check the athletic schedule for changes. If the schedule says POSTPONED, that game will not be played on the date indicated and has not yet been rescheduled. Some game locations have changed (like golf), so please do not rely on earlier schedules you may have received. We are doing our best to keep students active and parents notified of changes.

As in past years, we are happy to offer afterschool academic assistance starting Tuesday, Sept 14. Academic Assistance is an opportunity for students to get help with assignments after school. Academic Assistance is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday (2:45-4:20) and students can access the activity bus for a ride home (with drop-off points in each town). Any student is eligible to stay for Academic Assistance but we limit the number each day based on staffing so students need to sign up in the office at lunch time. Please call if you have questions.
