Dear Students and Families of Central High School,

School starts August 31st! We are getting so excited to see everyone back in the building! In preparation for the start of an exciting school year I just wanted to remind everyone that our Open House Party is Thursday August 27th from 6:00-7:30 PM... I say Party because you will see that it will have a little different feel to it this year. Staff are working on having information tables around common areas for you to visit and learn more about ALL the great opportunities and happenings here at Central. We have guests from partnering programs, concessions available from our Robotics Club, music, mingling, and door prizes!...and maybe even some organized activities for the younger siblings in tow! Still working on that one...but I'm hopeful! I've linked the 2026-27 Student Handbook in our 'Documents' section of this app, but it's also here too for your reference. There are some changes, so I'm hoping you will have a chance to review the handbook and come with any questions you may have...I'm happy to discuss your thoughts and questions. In addition, I'll be presenting some highlights of what to expect this coming school year, such as:

The field hockey game on 8/27 has been canceled. Mt. View has dropped the program. We are still looking for more girls to come out and play at Central. The numbers are low and we DO NOT want to do the same to our program. Please contact Coach Maybury if you are interested.

A Reminder that the CHS Parent/Player meeting is tonight in the gym at 5:00 PM. Please make sure you are there to get all the information you need to start the year, as well as meeting your coaches. Also please make sure that you have your athletes physical uploaded and paperwork completed on Arbiter.

Full Concessions will be available on site and there are now new functioning restrooms for spectators just behind the right field fence of Coffin Field. These spaces are next to one another as separate facilities.
At the conclusion of the game, there will be an awards presentation by the MPA Softball Committee for both teams. Administrators are asked to keep their spectators OFF the playing field until the presentation of the championship plaque. At that time, spectators are invited onto the field to take photographs. Only official, credentialed photographers and/or videographers through the MPA media credentialing process may be on field during the medals presentations.

Congratulations to our CHS softball team on a great win this morning. We are off to the Northeast Maine Championship game this Tuesday at Brewer High School. The game will be at 7:00 PM vs. the winner of the Bucksport and Narraguagus game this afternoon.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to let everyone know that we have added a page to highlight our Hirundo Outdoor Adventure Credit Recovery program. This program takes our students into the beautiful setting at Hirundo (in Alton) to spend time in nature and work on earning back credits needed for graduation. Look under the academics tab on the main page. There is a link there to register for anyone who wants/needs to do this.
