Come join us on August 28, 2024 at 6:00pm at Central Community Elementary School as we host Brooke Shannon, the founder of Wait Until 8th, for an in-person community event where she will speak on parenting in the digital age.

RSU 64 is in the process of completing its annual application for Title funds. We are accepting public comments regarding the ESEA application through July 25, 2024. Please visit the link below to view the district goals and priorities for these funds and share any thoughts or comments you would like to be considered before we submit this application. On our last student day, and their last day, please join me in thanking Cormier's Bus Service and Leighton's Bus Service for their many, many years of dedication in the transportation of our students! Your safe transport of thousands of students over the past several years has not gone unnoticed! Thank you for taking such great care of our kids!!!

As a part of the Literacy Grant provided by the State of Maine to RSU 64, CHS students had the opportunity to self-select a text this afternoon at a Book Fair. Thanks to BAM for partnering with us to provide this experience for our students!

Central Track Club is preparing for their upcoming summer program for students ages 5-15. There is an informational meeting being held June 12th in the CMS cafeteria at 6pm for anyone interested in learning more about this opportunity.

All evening activities in RSU 64 including Parent Teacher Conferences at CHS and the Community Connection Night at CMS are cancelled. We will be in touch about rescheduling.

Due to significant snowfall and extremely poor visibility predicted throughout the morning, RSU 64 will be closed today, Thursday, March 21, 2024. Please stay safe.

CCES Power Update: The power has been restored. Have a great night, everyone.

CCES Power Update: We've been told by Versant that power should be restored within 1-2 hours of the time of the outage as they work to repair a damaged pole. The school is operating on the generator and we will not be dismissing early.

We have lost power at CCES. Versant is unsure of the cause but is evaluating. There are 1700 customers impacted. The school is currently running on the generator. No plans to dismiss early at this point but we will continue to assess next steps as we move through the afternoon.

Although snow totals were less than predicted overnight, we are concerned about the timing of the change over to rain this morning and what it will do to the dirt roads in the district, making them very slippery for the morning commute. Also, thankfully, we did not yet get the power outages as were predicted however, the National Weather Service is indicating wind gusts will continue throughout the morning and the potential for power outages still exist. Therefore, there is no school in RSU 64 today, Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Please stay safe.

At this time, all three schools in RSU 64 have power. We are planning to have school tomorrow. See you soon!
