Staff are working hard to develop their individual skill sets surround behavior management strategies to best meet all students needs.

The past two days have been rooted in professional development as staff made their way back from summer break. Teacher leaders and administrators, along with a literacy consultant have led the way with this development. We are excited to see everyone tomorrow on the first day of school!

Central Track Club had their end of season gathering this afternoon at Peaks Kenny to get awards and celebrate together. Thank you to the coaches (Mike Viani, Peter Marsh and Chris Cook) for restarting this program for our community. Incoming kindergarten students through high school volunteers spent their summer developing and honing their skills. Be on the lookout next year for signups to join in and be a part of the Central Track Club!

Our administrative team has spent the past 3 days collaborating with other leaders around the area at Orono High School for the Danielson Institute. This professional development will be used to create a more efficient, effective and calibrated approach to our professional growth and development.

Looking for something to do this summer? Come out on August 3rd and support our community summer track program. This Thursday, at Brewer Community School beginning at 10am, our club will be competing in their regional meet, in order to qualify for States. The kids have been practicing each Monday and Tuesday evening throughout the summer to prepare. Let’s show them some support!

Summer Services are underway and our students are taking part in experiences focusing on academics, social and emotional learning, STEM activities as well as outdoor learning opportunities. Student engagement is high and it is a joy to watch the impacts that are being made!

RSU 64 is in the process of completing its annual application for Title 1 Funds. We are accepting public comments regarding the ESEA application through July 28, 2023. It's referendum day! Please stop by your polling station today to vote on the school district budget for 2023-2024. The budget was approved unanimously at the public meeting held last week. Now, we need voters to approve that action. Thank you for participating in this process and supporting your local schools.

Due to a water issue at Central Middle School and Central High School, all schools in RSU 64 will have a delayed start tomorrow, Tuesday, May 23, 2023. All schools will be opening 1 hour late. Buses will be one hour late picking up students and no students should be dropped off before 8:30am. We will still have morning PreK and the morning run to UTC will still take place. We apologize for this inconvenience but we expect we will need an additional hour in the morning to ensure our water delivery has arrived and we are able to open. Thank you for your understanding.

The Annual District Budget Meeting for the 2023-2024 proposed budget will take place in the cafeteria at CCES on Thursday, June 8 at 7pm. Any registered voter in any one of the District's five towns is eligible to vote on the proposed budget on this date. Citizens that are not registered to vote may not vote on the budget but are still encouraged to attend the meeting. Citizens wishing to register to vote may do so by contacting their respective town office or town clerk for registration details. Please review the 2023-2024 proposed budget available at your town office or the RSU 64 website. We hope to see you there!
